How to install Microsoft Office 2010

0 Comment(s)
I manage to get a free upgrade to office 2010 as I mentioned before. After downloading the file I need to install it. Normally software upgrading is not a smooth operation. There can be lot of issues while upgrading and after upgrading. However this time it went smoothly without a single a error or warning. It seems like Microsoft has learnt the lesson after Vista.

1. As I double click the installation file it was asking me the 25 digit product key.

2. Then it starts installing Office 2010. It took some times to finish the installations.

3. Next thing I saw it installation is Complete successfully.

Normally upgrading does not finish just by complete installation message. You need to run and check all the programs to see whether it is working properly and it the new version compatible with your older files. So far it did not give any problem. Microsoft Office 2010 is running smoothly on Windows 7.

Tip: 5 things you may not know you can do with attachments in Gmail - Official Gmail Blog

2 Comment(s)
Are you a Gmail user? then here is 5 things that might help you to save time and effectively work around with your attachments.

1. Drag attachments in
Simply drag files from your desktop right into the message you're composing and they'll upload from there. (Make sure you're using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox 3.6 for this to work.)

2. Select multiple attachments
Attaching multiple files one by one is no fun. Instead, just multi-select the files you want to attach by holding down the Ctrl key (or Command on a Mac) and clicking on each file you want to attach. Holding down the Shift key will select a continuous list of files

3. Never forget an attachment again
Gmail looks for phrases in your email that suggest you meant to attach a file (things like "I've attached" or "see attachment") and warns you if it looks like you forgot to do so. Every day, this saves tons of people the embarrassment of having to send a follow up email with the file actually attached.

4. View attachments online
When you receive an attachment, sometimes you just want to view it and there's no need to download or save to your desktop. The Google Docs viewer allows you to view .pdf, .ppt, and .tiff files in your browser. Just click the "View" link at the bottom of the message.

5. Find that long lost attachment via search
If you're looking for an attachment someone has sent to you, Gmail's advanced search operators can help you find what you're looking for quickly and accurately.

You can find more details at gmail blog.

It Works:mouse double-clicking when you single-click

0 Comment(s)
Problem: It is double clicking when I do a single click in Windows 7. It is quite annoying as it open up programs even when you select it or close programs. First did virus and spyware, malware scan to make sure the computer is not infected with this crazzy little programs that cause your computer to go mad.

Then as advised in the Troubleshoot mouse double clicking when you do a single click, installed the latest version of Intellipoint software.

Now mouse seems to work normal.

Free Backup Software FBackup 4.4

2 Comment(s)
I have been discussed about cool backup softwares that can be used to backup your important data smoothly. FBackup 4.4 another cool software I found to back up all your files. And I do not have to explain why you should backup your computers regularly. FBAckup is a program I found while trying to fix a problem in a computer ( It is not related to backups or retrieving data). While I am writing this post Fbackup is backing up all my important files intoa external hard drive. So, you can download and test it out.

Best features I would like to point out is
* Backup Open files is one of the biggest advantage of this software. Specially the Outlook pst file. I am always had problem backing up pst files when outlook is open. FBackup dose not seems to have any problems. This apply for all the other open files as well.

* Backup with Standard Zip is another cool feature. Why? Most of the paid backup softwares compress or encrypt the backup so you will need the same program to restore. However, this one have a option to compress the files using standard zip file.

* Next one is the best out of all the key features. It is free to use personally and commercial. Isn't it cool? So, why do not you give it a try and backup all you important files regularly.

Enjoy
