Only concern is that is it going to be better or worst? Today Norton Semantic Safe Web names Top 100 dirtiest websites and what they reveal is bit hard to believe but true.


You have no ideas what sites you are visiting doing in background. Norton says that even without any clicks or any downloading it can infect your computer just by visiting these sites. Here is the filthy facts Norton published...

  • Average number of threats per site on the Dirtiest Websites list is roughly 18,000, compared to 23 threats per site for all sites rated by Norton Safe Web
  • 40 of the Top 100 Dirtiest Sites have more than 20,000 threats per site
  • 48% of the Top 100 Dirtiest Web sites feature adult content
  • 3/4 of the Top 100 Dirtiest Web sites have distributed malware for more than 6 months
  • Viruses are the most common threat represented on the Dirtiest list, followed by Security Risks and Browser Exploits

What are the Actions you MUST take.

1. Now you know at least 100 of dirties websites you should stay away from. If not have a look at the list at Norton Safe Web.
2. You should be up to date with the list as this is not the complete list or the latest. By tomorrow you will have a totally different list.
3. Block at lease these known websites using your firewall, router or from Host file in your Windows OS
5. Update your Operating System. According to Norton it really does not matter you use Windows or MAC it can still affect your computers. So update to the latest patch available to have the maximum security.
4. Update your Antivirus, Anti Spyware, Anti Malware programs and do a complete scan.
5. Spread the message to everyone you know.
