5 ways to secure your Gmail account

Secure and reliable system is not enough to be secure. You are playing a major role in your own security. Specially in cyber space as you can be a targeted in may ways. Gmail team has come up with 5 ways to secure your Gmail account.



1. Remember to sign out.
2. Be careful about sending certain sensitive information via email.
3. Enable "Always use HTTPS.
4. Be wary of unexpected attachments.
5. Make sure your account recovery information is up-to-date.

You can find more details in Gmail Blog. Recently I am been through so many security issues with what to trust and how to trust. Sometimes Anti virus it self will give you a faults information. Therefore do not always depend on something when it comes to security.

6. Keep a separate computer for sensitive data. Do not download programs that you do not know for testing on that computer.
7. Better to use up to date Anti Virus Software. But can it be trusted.
8. Do not write your password some where.
9. Do not use the same password you use in Gmail in other accounts.
10.Do not give any of your password to others.(They might understand your pattern)
11.Do not think that you have nothing to loose. Compromising your email can be used in many ways.
