Reading books, news papers can be a daily task, hobby or for educational purpose. Anyway we are doing some sort of reading every day. It is time to draw line between paper base books and news and ebooks, eNews papers. Technology point of view we have come to a stage where we can move all over books and news papers to electronic media. However, that did not made the paper base books history.
Both the eBooks and paper books are our best friends because it allows us to read and acquire knowledge. Since our childhood we have seen number of paper books lying in our study room and shelves. Paper books are quite heavy in weight and they also require space in our book shelf whereas eBooks are the digital form of books that are adjustable inside your PC, laptop, tablet or even in your smart phone.
They don’t require any extra space in your room and hence, they are space consuming. EBooks are also known as paper consuming books because it helps in saving paper.
We are aware about the present situation of our mother earth and hence, we can understand the value of tresses that are cutting down for making papers. It is said that 20 tresses are cut down for making 5 newspapers.
When it comes to ebooks pdf is the simplest and commonly used ebook format. Main reason is the compatibility. It is works well in Windows, MAC OS, Unix, Linux or even in Android. Then you can start from the simplest format of digital ebooks, plain text (.txt), rich text format (rtf), hypertext (.htm, html), Amazon Kindle (.azw), Palm Media (.pdb) and many more. However, it paper mode it is only one format. That is paper and no compatibility issues.
Then you required some sort of device to read ebooks. It can be a computer, laptop, tablet or a digital ebook reader. There are many ebook readers in the market. Amazon Kindle, Sony ebook reader, iRiver are some of famous ebook readers. Where paper books you don’t have to get any devices as book it self is sufficient. What is going to be more cost effective? Ebooks or the paper base books?
Looking at the present condition of our mother land, we should adapt eBooks for our daily reading habits instead of paper books. EBooks can also be saved properly for longer time than the paper books. Paper books can be torn in the longer run but eBooks can be maintained with the same quality for years.
Thus, I would prefer and advise you too for using eBooks leaving the paper books. However, decision depends on the simplicity and cost effectiveness of the method. Environmental friendly might be the last factor that most of us may or may not consider.
