You are getting lot of tablet PC solutions in this holiday season. It will be a great gift idea as you can get a tablet PC for any price range you prefer. However, if you look at it from person who really work with computers ( Developers, IT guys ) you alway look at the performances and flexibility. Lets see how iiView M1touch Windows 7 Tablet PC can meet up with this requirements. iPad is a better solution for end user. You can replace all their laptops with iPads. It is a great toy to show off to your clients and easy to operate. Like I said before people who really into computers won't have much use of it.
iiView M1touch tablet PC seems like a alternative to your laptop. According to the m1touch.com, official iiView website, it comes up with better hardware configurations.
CPU / Processor / Hard drive
Intel(R) Atom(TM) N450 @1.66GHz
Intel NM10
1GB RAM - Enough RAM to run most of the development tools.
160GB Hard drive (5400rpm) - Can use as a portable hard drive
Networking
WiFi wireless, IEE 802.11 b/g/n - Table PC will be a piece of rock without Wifi/3G, I dont know why tablet PCs release without 3G. I would love the Model 3 in this case not the basic.
I/O Port
1*Two in one Audio Port
Microphone port
Headphone port
3*USB 2.0 - Three USB ports will be handy. Must have feature for tablet devices.
HDMI to VGA
1*DC port
Audio Device
VIA High Definition Audio
Headphone Output
Microphone Input
This is the basic option and you have three more options. This sounds like a basic laptop. Running Windows 7 OS gives you flexibility apply all the hacks tricks and tweaks to get your work done. However, I am sure that this won't be a good tool if you plan to do programming for long hours. I notice that it is unconformable to stay long hours in front of small screens (Netbooks).
Question still remain unanswered. Will the tablet PC an kill the laptop market.
