How to assign the user to "Allow log on through Terminal Services" using local policy (gpedit.msc)

This is helpful in windows 2003 when you try to add a user and
give terminal services right to the user.

By default in Windows 2003 it is only enabled for the Administrator.
All the other user group need to be assigned before it is been used.

1.Type "GPEDIT.msc" in RUN
2.Go to Computer Configurtions
3.Go to Windows Settings
4.Go to Security Settings
5.Go to Local Policies
6.Go to User Rights Assignment
7.Double click Allow Log on through Terminal Services
8.Add the User to the list. You can use the advance button to display all the users and groups and select one.

That it. It let the new user log into the machine through Remote Desktop.

Is your website hack proof?

Dam all my websites been hacked by ******. That is not cool. All my home pages are changed. I don’t know what to do. For some reason I Google my web site. It is already been indexed by Google. Anyway I found another web page is still the same in Google Cache. Then I check the URL with exact file name. Cool it works.

How they change my home pages then?

As you know default pages are index and default and ten you can use any extension. For example index.html, index.htm index.php, default.html, default.htm etc. What they have done is create all the possible default and index web pages with their message in it. However, they haven’t overwritten the default page I already have. What a cool idea. When I type the URL it goes to their page not mine.

That type of attack is called deface.

Then I search what is the security hole in my web server. That is really a small issue. It is just a matter of folder permissions. All the folder permissions are defaulted to 666. This means it has read and writes permission to everyone.

You should keep all your folders and file except for the scripts and stuff 644 file permission. So only the owner has permission to read and write. Rest only read permission.

Do you like to learn about defacing ........how to do it?

Delete Access Denied Folders

I tried to delete the invisible folder I have created...Dammm it doesnt allowe me to delete the folder. I cannot move the folder. I cannot rename the folder.

I tried couple of method I can think of to deete the folder...

1. Move folder to Recycle Bin
2. Cut and paste the folder into some where else.
3. Delete the Folder in command prompt.

Give me break I dont know how to type the folder name. I tried to type "rmdir" it did not work. Finally I tried the same thing I have done to rename the folder type rmdir"(ATL+255)" remeber to put ( " ). It identified the folder but did not delete the folder.

Access is denied

Finally I Google it Found the answere .... This is the link I found

Try it ifyou have problems deleting any of your folder. It works in Winodows Vista.

Rename Windows folder to Space (empty) or funny character

This is really interesting if you like to play with windows folders. I thought of a way to distract a folder from others. Classic way of doing this is make the folder hidden. It is already known by most of the users and it is no longer makes you distract.

I just want to make the folder invisible without making it hidden.

You can easily rename the folder to " " (space). You cannot rename a folder to space straight a way. You just right click the folder and select "rename" and get rid of the privious name and
you have to hold the ALT and type 255 in num pad(ALT + 255) . Finally press enter and your folder name will be changed to space.....

It is not over yet... Still folder icon shows up with the folder attached to a wired name (space).

No we want to get the folder icon away. Thats simple. Right click on the filder, go to "properties", Select Customize, Click "Change Icon". They have already thought about this, given three blank icons. I have no idea why this blank icons are there.

Select one of them and click Ok and then Apply it. Done. Your folder should be invisible.

Wait a minute...Still that blank line looks bad with other folders... Just double click on the Name and sort the folder list.
