New Mac OS X Trojan Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a
Security experts always stress out that popularity of a operating system and number of malware will increase together. Last week Mac OS X was attacked by the Flashback Trojan Installer, which is exploited Java vulnerability. New Mac OS X Trojan was going around, infecting Mac OS by exploiting Microsoft Word.
New Mac OS X Trojan is identified as “Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a” or “SX/Sabpab-A.”. It uses malformed Word documents to open backdoors for remote hackers to steal information or install malware.
Best news is to infect you need to download and open the infected word document. So, make sure you open the attachments carefully. Important part is to update Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac and Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac and you will be safe as these vulnerabilities are already taken care of.
