Funny Google Hack

Everyone knows that you can use Google for hacking. Now it is been a popular secret. Many search for Google Hacks. You can even find video tutorials how to use Google for hacking web servers, web cam and many more. But this is a funny thing happened to me while trying such a Google hack.

Google Hack I was trying was intitle:"Index of" master.passwd which will lead to master password files created carelessly ( with wrong file permission ) and indexed by Google. Nice got 614 results in 0.32 seconds.

Wooo hooo I can see the whole files structure including master password files and many more.

Click on the files and took me to a page and it display this message

It is pretty Innocent honey pot. Tried the second link as well. It is another honey pot and moved to the third link and wait a minute. I can see Google Ads there as well. They know I am going to visits this page. My Google hacking for intitle:"Index of" master.passwd ends.

Why I like Flash Games

I am not a big computer game addict. but I found flash games are really cool and crazzy because of couple of reasons.

Flash Games can be found online. So you can start playing flash game on any PC where you can get Internet. It does not have to be a gaming PC. You do not have to download anything big. Games are really simple ( I know there are complicated once as well). They does not require larger memory and processors or video cards or sound cards. You can find many kind of flash games. Racing Games, Sports, Shooting Games, Adventure, Puzzles and you cannot Wittie everything here. More than everything 99% of good Flash Games are free.

So during a small break you can start a Flash Game simply doing a basic google search for "Flash Games" or "Free Flash Games". Table Tennis, Shooting games are my favorites.

Windows Group Policy (gpedit.msc) explained

Group Policies is a powerful area in windows base system where you can control what users can do and cannot do. Unfortunately in windows XP you have a slight problem as all these group policies will apply to the Administrator account as well. Reason behind this is Windows XP dose not support domain users like windows Server versions. Still you can use gpedit.msc or Group Policies to define limitations for users.

How to get control over Group Policies?

Log in to Administrator Account.
(Help) I forgot Windows Administrator Password
(Help) I think I am lucky. I want a way to access windows XP Administrator account.

Method 1: (Click) Start > (Click) run > (type) gpedit.msc > (Press) Enter
Method 2: (Windows Drive normally it is C) C:\WINDOWS\system32 and you will able to find the gpedit.msc file and double click it.

(Hint) Copy a short cut of gpedit.msc file to your desktop. This will come handy when you play with gpedit.msc file. I will let you know later.

After you open the gpedit.msc windows open go to user configuration and then to Administrative Template folder.

In this I will show you some useful group policy settings you can start with.

Restrict Windows Messenger.

If you do not want your users to use Windows Messenger and you want to block it this is a effective way to do it.

Ø (Double click) Do not allow windows Messenger to be run
Ø (Select) Enable

(Hint) Group policies are defined in English. Therefore you can explore through Administrator Template folder and find many useful things you can do to protect your shared computer by enabling the limitations.

1. What you going to write?

It is really important to know exactly what you going to write on your blog. You should be familiar with the subject. Also you should have your own experience and should able to continue it for sometimes. Considering that it is always better to choose something related to what you do or what you are good at, because every day you will get a new challenges and new ideas.

I start blogging couple of times and failed because I do not have things to write. I was kind of lost after couple of posts. Then I gave up blogging and after sometimes I thought why I don’t blog problems I solve every day. I am not a professional writer but now I have information to write. To solve day today challenges I get help from blogs, forums and websites. After solving problem always it will become a unique experience.

I am pretty sure at this point at least you will have one subject to start blogging that you are confidence with.

2. What blogging platform you going to use?

Is this important? Yes it is really impotent. How it is going to affect your blog? If you choose one of the best blogging platforms for your blog it will make easy to make your blog a successful blog. Imagine you start your blog on a crappy blogging platform you will not get a good basement for your blog. If it has lot of bugs it can make you hate blogging. Also you cannot trust how long it going to last. All your time and money will be wasted.
If you start your blog in a well recognise platform by default your blog will get a better recognition from search engines. This is really important in long term as well as short term.

Blogger.com and Wordpress.com is pretty good blogging sites that you can find in cyber space. There are lot of other web and softwares you can use as well. As I don’t have much experience about them at this stage I cannot give you a proper idea about them. Blogger.com and Word Press is pretty advanced and trusted website for bloging.

3. What is your main aim of having a blog?

Is it for fun? Is it to make money? Is it to promote your business? Yes you can have fun make bit of money and promote your business or opinion via a blog effectively. Search engines like blogs. All other bloggers visit other blogs and link to your blog if they find something interesting. So your ideas, brand will be go into people easily via a blog.
If it is totally for having fun then you can keep on writing and writing your views, likes and dislikes and you can get others response. Still I don’t think adding Google Adsense will not hurt you much. As your blog become popular you will able to earn bit of money through Adsense or similar Pay Per click advertising and affiliate programs.
Even your intention to make money you always have to attract the audience. Then think about ways you can direct these hits to a income.
And if you are promoting your business do not try to sell products from post one. Bloggers do not find it much interesting. Always talk about your experience and share your knowledge and stories in your blog. That will attract more people to your blog and you can direct them to your main website.

Use outlook to send email from any email account

I have notice outlook have this funny email hack that allows you to send emails from any email address you want. It can be your friends email address or billgates@microsoft.com or any email address you can think of.

How it works?

First you should have a POP3 enabled email account. If do not have POP3 enabled email account, you can create one from Gmail for free. Set up your POP3 account to work with Outlook and I am not going to tell how to set up an email account in outlook here.

Then you need to do a simple change which will let you email from any email you want to.

Then change your name and Email Address as shown in the picture.

 How simple is that. I think this is not a big security issue but someone can misuse it. Please do not misuse it but you can have bit of fun. This works in all Outllook versions.

If you look closely on this example you a see different viruses were found by different virus scanners. May be they identified the same virus with a different name. Some scanners failed to detect any virus at all.

Limitations I see in Jotti is that you can scan only one file at a time. You will not be able to download each and every virus scanner on your machine.

Conclusion is we cannot trust a single virus scanner. It might say it’s cleared but the file might be infected.

Virus Identified worm / Autoit.ANT

I loved an auto clicker programe which is really cool and even I put it to my Blog (Previous Post). Anyway it was in a testing computer which I do not use for series work.

Today I thought I should install AVG free Antivirus and see is there any viruses Trojans or any funny programs installed.

BINGO

Virus Identified worm / Autoit.ANT

And it successfully cleaned it, basically deleted the files which are infected.

Then I thought I should further investigate Autoit.ANT and found some interesting stuff.
One is couple of other people found the same worm in this Auto clicker Program. You can read them here in download.com

One comment was bit different. According to that comment he was able to find out couple of more viruses.

So it leaves me with a question.
